Meghan Markle could learn a thing or two from Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana.

In the recent episode of “60 Minutes,” the Princess of Wales’ former private secretary, Patrick Jephson, encouraged the Duchess of Sussex to take a leaf out of Her Majesty and the late royal’s books.

Jephson also said that one of the ways that Prince Harry’s wife could win over the public is if she looks into the Queen and Princess Diana’s legacies and to follow in their footsteps.

“I would say she needs to look at two legacies - the legacy of the Queen and I think she should study, really study her mother-in-law’s life, her work, how she worked, how she chose her causes, why they worked, why things that she did resonate with ordinary British people,” he said.

But Jephson also noted the fact that even though Markle should look into Princess Diana’s ways, it is still necessary to understand that the two female royals are not exactly alike. Prince Charles’ ex-wife was a lot younger compared to the “Suits” alum when she joined the royal family.

“But what I noticed with her is that she had a very shrewd instinct about what looked good and what didn’t. She had an extraordinary understanding that for her to be successful as a princess she had to be very disciplined - she had to do her own preparation work, she had to be very professional in how she ran her public life but she also had to understand what people expected and she knew that most of what royal people do is visual,” he said.

Meanwhile, Jephson also talked about one of the struggles that Markle is facing at the moment. He said that the fact that Archie’s mom isn’t British has become a problem for her. As such, Markle needs to learn how to be like any normal British person and to understand how she could use her influence and high-profile to impact their lives.
