Meghan Markle Should’ve Visited Sex Workers Secretly Like Princess Diana, Source Claims
Meghan Markle’s decision to publicize her visit to sex workers in Bristol is being criticized by a royal commentator.
Royal expert Ryan Phelan recently appeared on Australian morning talk show “Sunrise,” where he said that the Duchess of Sussex should’ve followed in Princess Diana’s footsteps and kept the visit a secret. “It is patronizing. She has the best intentions in de-stigmatizing the sex industry,” he said.
“But then she has done something patronizing which I think has undone that,” he added.
Phelan went on to say that Markle should have taken a leaf out of the late Princess of Wales’ book, since the latter met up with sex workers multiple times in private. Princess Diana typically went out in the middle of the night without cameras in tow, and she would lift the spirits of those she met up with.
Paul Burrell, Princess Diana’s former royal butler, previously revealed that his boss was on a first-name basis with some of the sex workers because she regularly met up with them. She also gave them $64 notes to encourage them to stop working as prostitutes. He said that Princess Diana encouraged the sex works around Paddington to go home especially when it was raining and cold.
Meanwhile, Phelan also mocked Prince Harry’s wife’s decision to write inspirational messages on banana peels, and he’s not the only one. Earlier this week, “Good Morning Britain” host Piers Morgan also did a similar thing when he discussed the Duchess of Sussex’s bold move.
Morgan said that Markle’s move clearly exposed her to mockery. He also called the gesture patronizing and said that Markle lives a palace and has a very privileged life.
In related news, one “Sunrise” panelist jumped to Markle’s defense and said that it seems the “Suits” alum cannot do anything right. Some of the positive that Markle has been doing just end up being criticized. Markle has also been a victim of online trolls ever since she joined the royal family.
