Meghan Markle showed her maternal instinct in New Zealand when she met a sobbing teenage fan during her and Prince Harry’s royal tour.

After their visit to the Pukeahu National War Memorial to pay their respects to the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, Markle and Prince Harry greeted their well-wishers outdoors.

A teenage fan burst into tears as she saw the Duchess of Sussex approach her, and the “Suits” alum comforted her by holding her hand.

“Absolute hysteria here in #Wellington including a sobbing fan who was comforted by the Duchess herself! Meghan spent quite a while talking to the crying teen – one of the sweetest moments on the #royaltour so far,” the post on Twitter read.

Prince Harry also did a similar thing when another young fan broke down in tears at the sight of him. The Duke of Sussex gave the fan a tight hug during their meeting.

India Brown, 19, told The Sun that she had been a fan of the royal family since she was 8 years old.

“It was just such an opportunity and I just went for it. I didn’t expect it to happen because it’s actually against protocol. I said, ‘I know it’s against protocol but can I please have a hug?’ He hugged me and I burst into tears. He just said, ‘Oh you’re going to get me in trouble,” she shared.

Markle and Prince Harry are on the final days of their first overseas royal tour. The couple kicked off the official engagement on Oct. 15 when they arrived in Australia. They stayed on the continent for a few days and then flew to Fiji and the Kingdom of Tonga. They returned to Australia last weekend to attend the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games. The couple flew to New Zealand on Sunday for a series of engagements before returning to London on Oct. 31.
