Meghan Markle is reportedly somebody that Princess Diana aspired to be.

Prince William and Prince Harry were very close to their mother. Unfortunately, they lost her at such an early age. Their wives never had the chance to meet Princess Diana.

Royal author Andrew Morton believed that had the Princess of Wales lived, she would have shared a warm relationship with her daughters-in-law. Morton also added that Princess Diana and Markle would make a great tandem.

“I think Diana and Megan would have got on like a house on fire because she’d have seen Meghan as somebody she aspired to be herself, someone was an articulate activist on the world stage,” Morton said.

“And she’d have been thinking, ‘I wish there’d been social media when I was around.’ And Kate would have been far more accessible in terms of her own background, somebody who went to private school in Britain. Diana was wanting to do a degree in psychology before she died.”

It remains unknown why Princess Diana wanted a degree in psychology, but it was possible that it was due to her personal struggles. In her infamous Panorama interview, the People’s Princess confessed that she struggled with depression and bulimia for several years.

Speaking about bulimia which she considered a “secret disease,” she said that it was a self-inflicted disease because one has such a low self-esteem and doesn’t think that she is worthy or valuable.

“You fill your stomach up four to five times a day, some do it more, and it gives you a feeling of comfort. It’s like having a pair of arms around you, but it’s temporary. Then you are disgusted at the bloatedness of your stomach, then you bring it all up again,” Princess Diana said.

In related news, Prince William and Prince Harry have reportedly forgiven their father Prince Charles for his ill-treatment to their mom. However, the Duke of Cambridge was upset with Princess Diana for airing their dirty linen in public. Simone Simmons told Vanity Fair royal correspondent Katie Nicholl that Prince William told his mother he could not forgive her for the controversial interview.
