Meghan Markle Thinks It’s ‘Weird’ No One Hugs, Everyone’s ‘Uptight’ In Royal Family

Meghan Markle reportedly has negative thoughts about the royal family, particularly Kate Middleton.

A source told Daily Mail that it was bittersweet for the Duchess of Sussex to return to London for a series of engagements. During her return, Prince Harry’s wife reportedly noticed that there’s no warmth between the members of the royal family. As such, Markle realized that she wants her son to grow up in a household that’s filled with laughter and joy.

“It's still weird to her that no one hugs and that everyone is so uptight, especially Kate. She said it's obvious that Kate and William do not approve of their choices and that you could cut the tension with a knife,” the source said.

Meanwhile, Middleton’s reaction to Markle’s Megxit has just been revealed. While speaking with Vanity Fair, royal correspondent Katie Nicholl said that it’s not been easy for anyone. Nicholl also said that Markle and Middleton are pretty emotional post-exit.

“To be honest, I think Kate has taken it all badly. She, Harry, and William were once such a happy trio, she thinks what has happened is all very sad,” another source said.

While speaking with Express, royal correspondent Richard Fitzwilliams said that Megxit just solidified Prince William and Middleton’s status within the royal family.

“We are, however sadly, where we are. It had been known for some time that Harry and Meghan had been unhappy with royal life and were seeking to change their roles. William and Kate, the future King and Queen Consort know that the future ‘inner core’ of the royal family lies with them and with George and his siblings and their future families. What is encouraging for the monarchy, an institution which has a unique capacity for reinventing itself, are the qualities that both of them bring to their roles,” he said.
