Meghan Markle Throws Shade At Father, Ex-Husband In Prince Harry Birthday Tribute
Meghan Markle was accused of throwing some shade at her father and ex-husband in her birthday tribute to Prince Harry.
The Duchess of Sussex made a sweet tribute to the Duke of Sussex for his 35th birthday by sharing several photos of him on Instagram. The collage included a never-before-seen black and white photo of Prince Harry kneeling in front of Markle and baby Archie which many found to be very adorable.
“Your service to the causes you care so deeply for inspires me every day. You are the best husband and most amazing dad to our son. We love you Happiest birthday!” Markle’s personal message for the Prince Harry read.
However, Markle’s critics quickly deciphered her message, with some saying that it was a dig at her father and ex-husband.
One royal follower questioned how Markle was able to say that Prince Harry is the “most amazing father” when their son is only four months old. “Hm, I say its a dig at her own father,” the netizen wrote (via Express ).
Meanwhile, another commented on Markle’s statement saying that Prince Harry is the best husband. “The best husband huh? Oh, you have been married to another man before, I forgot,” another user opined.
Others criticized Markle for sharing a photo of Archie after trying to hide him from the public. The netizens and public were not happy when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex kept his christening private. Unlike Prince William and Kate Middleton, the couple also did not release the names of Archie’s godparents.
“Do you want to keep it private? Or now you want the public to get their hard earned tax payers moneys worth? Can’t have it both ways,” the netizen wrote.
A different user questioned Markle for referring to herself as Duchess of Sussex but not addressing the Cambridges appropriately when she greeted them.
“How come she uses a title to refer to herself but not when she congratulates the Cambridge’s?? Meghan is truly full of herself she thinks she’s more royal than the actual royals,” the critic wrote.
In related news, Markle’s speech at the launch of her capsule collection for Smart Works was criticized because they felt that the duchess was too focused on herself. Markle reportedly used the word “I” directly and indirectly 43 times.
Prior to that, the Duchess of Sussex was also accused of using her son Archie for a PR stunt. Markle’s fans weren’t happy that she wrapped up her speech by saying that she had to rush home to feed her son. They were not convinced because last week, Markle flew to New York and left Archie home to support her pal Serena Williams at the U.S. Open finals.
