Meghan Markle Urged Not To Have Royal Baby Photo Shoot Outside Hospital
Meghan Markle is being urged to not have a royal baby photo shoot outside the hospital just hours after she gives birth.
Fridababy CEO Chelsea Hirschhorn recently wrote an open letter to the Duchess of Sussex and published it on The New York Times. The 35-year-old said that Markle should put an end to the so-called traditional postpartum parade, wherein moms bring their newborn children out to greet photographers waiting for them outside the hospital.
Princess Diana did the same thing after Prince William and Prince Harry were born. Kate Middleton also followed in her mother-in-law’s footsteps when she welcomed Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis into the world.
“I assume that, like your princess predecessors, you’ll be expected to parade outside of the hospital in front of throngs of photographers to show off your new bundle of joy shortly after giving birth. You’ll smile, you’ll wave, you’ll be radiant, but between your legs will be a whole different story,” she wrote.
Hirschhorn called on Markle to use her public platform as an opportunity to keep it real and to show solidarity with the other new mothers who are in their third or fourth trimester.
Meanwhile, the CEO also talked about postpartum pain after having experienced it following the birth of her three children.
“Bringing a new life into the world starts with your vagina, and the aftermath is a mess. The bleeding and swelling will linger, peeing will burn, and sitting like your old self will feel like a herculean foot,” she wrote.
Markle and Prince Harry are just a few more weeks away from meeting their firstborn. While in Birkenhead, the Duchess of Sussex told royal fans that she will give birth sometime at the end of April or the beginning of May.
As of late, it is still unclear where Markle will choose to give birth but no matter where it may be, Prince Harry will be there by her side.
