Meghan Markle Went On This ‘Unusual Trip’ Before Meeting Prince Harry
Meghan Markle reportedly went on an unusual trip before meeting Prince Harry.
Kara Godfrey, a journalist for Express, said that the former “Suits” star traveled to New Zealand via a camper van in 2015. Markle detailed her vacation on her lifestyle blog, The Tig, and shared that she went to explore the north and South Island on a budget.
Markle’s friend and “Suits” co-star, Gabriel Macht, was the one that taught the Duchess of Sussex on how to travel to the country on a budget. While there, Markle also drank wine in Marlborough and hiked up the glacier in Franz Josef. Prince Harry’s wife also swam with dolphins.
“I was told to let go of my impressions of R.V. culture in the U.S., that it was a totally different thing in New Zealand,” Markle said during her interview with Conde Nast Traveler.
The journalist dubbed Markle’s trip as unusual because this is something that she may no longer do as a member of the royal family. In October, she and Prince Harry will head to Australia for the Invictus Games, and they will also travel to New Zealand, the Kingdom of Tonga, and Fiji.
However, since the upcoming trip will be for an official engagement, it is highly unlikely that the royal couple will have to worry about their budget. Markle and Prince Harry are expected to travel on a private plane to their four destinations or in first class.
But it is important to note that Markle and Prince Harry don’t really mind traveling in economy class since this is something they’ve done earlier this year. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex went to the French Riviera for their New Year holiday, and they took British Airways.
Prince Harry and Markle were spotted at the last row on the plane sitting close to the toilets. They were accompanied by their bodyguards and other royal staff.
