Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been accused of snubbing Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip during the holiday season.
Last month, the couple announced that they won’t be celebrating Christmas in London with the royal family. They also revealed in their statement that Her Majesty allowed them to celebrate the occasion elsewhere.
But the Sussexes recently faced backlash after it was reported that Prince Philip was rushed to King Edward VII Hospital to seek treatment for a pre-existing condition.
Since then, some netizens have been urging Prince Harry and Markle to fly back to London to spend time with the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. However, this is unlikely to happen.
Earlier this month, it was reported that the royal couple will be returning to their royal duties in the first week of January. This means that they will be returning to London next year.
But a royal insider reminded the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that the Queen and Prince Philip won’t be around for long so they must reconsider their plans.
“After all, at 93 and it being Archie’s first Christmas, neither Her Majesty the Queen nor Prince Philip will be around forever,” the source told Entertainment Tonight.
Meanwhile, another source previously told the publication that some members of the royal family are supportive of Prince Harry and Markle’s decision to take a break from their royal duties and spend time with the “Suits” alum’s mom, Doria Ragland.
The source also said that Prince Harry and Markle’s decision to leave London temporarily has nothing to do with their alleged feud with Prince William and Kate Middleton. The royal couples are simply on different paths but that doesn’t mean that they don’t care for each other.
In October, a source said that the members of the royal family are also concerned about Prince Harry and Markle’s well-being after they watched their interview on “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.”
