Meghan Markle’s ‘American Management Technique’ Called ‘Uncomfortable’ By Royal Aides, Expert Claims
Meghan Markle’s unique way of managing things may be what’s causing issues between her and her royal aides.
“Royally Obsessed” hosts Kaitlin Menza and Lisa Ryan said that there could have been an American culture-clash that surprised royal aides when the Duchess of Sussex joined the royal family on May 19.
“Some of the strife comes from her management technique, it is a little different from other royal family members. Culturally, Americans tend to be more direct and that straightforwardness might be uncomfortable,” Menza said.
Ryan agreed that there are cultural differences between Markle and the royal aides who are from the United Kingdom. The host also said that Markle’s background as an actress who fought for herself in Hollywood also made her the way that she is.
And since joining the royal family, Markle was expected to follow some royal protocols. According to Ryan, she’s certain that it has been a learning curve to suddenly have to change the way that Markle does everything.
But Menza said that it is possible for the Duchess of Sussex’s royal aides to not resign if only she tried to ask them questions directly.
Last week, it was reported that one of Markle’s bodyguards has decided to quit. According to The Sun, the bodyguard is the third person from the Duchess of Sussex’s team to resign. The female bodyguard, whose name has not been disclosed for privacy reasons, is believed to be a police officer who holds the rank of inspector.
Initial reports linked the bodyguards’ resignation to rumors that Markle has been very difficult to work with. Prince Harry’s wife has reportedly been making outrageous demands even before she wed the Duke of the Sussex. But People clarified that there is no truth to the claims.
The unnamed bodyguard will resign in the coming weeks due to some personal reasons. Last month, it was also reported that Markle’s royal aide, Samantha Cohen, will also resign from her post after the “Suits” alum gives birth in the Spring.
Cohen previously worked for Queen Elizabeth II.
