Meghan Markle’s Dad Defends Duchess Amid Kate Middleton Rift Despite Being Estranged
Meghan Markle’s dad, Thomas Markle Sr., came to the Duchess of Sussex’s defense amid rumors that she is feuding with Kate Middleton.
Even though Markle’s father has been estranged from her for months now, the former lighting director still said that he doesn’t think the “Suits” alum will ever be rude to anyone.
“I don’t recognize this person. The Meghan I know was always sweet, kind, generous. She was always demanding but never rude. If she would just speak to me, things could be different. She bends the rules. She’s good at that. But this acting up is new. She’s never been rude to me before,” he told Daily Mail.
Throughout the past couple of weeks, there have been claims suggesting that Markle made Kate Middleton cry. She has also been dubbed as a “difficult Duchess” due to her outrageous demands. Markle reportedly wakes up very early in the morning to send out demanding emails to her royal aides.
Some of the Duchess of Sussex’s staff have resigned, and this just strengthened the rumors that Markle is difficult to work with. But until today, Markle has not responded to all of the criticisms thrown at her.
Meanwhile, Thomas has also talked about his relationship with Markle and said that he can no longer stay after he was frozen out of his daughter’s life.
“I have made dozens of attempts to reach my daughter via text and letters, but she and Harry have put up a wall of silence. They have done what they once told me not to do – they are believing everything negative that has been written about me. So I am reaching out them, once again, to try to connect the lines and get the truth out there,” he said.
Thomas revealed that he has been asked to keep quiet so that his daughter may eventually decide to speak to him. Markle is worried that her dad may spill information from their conversations.
“I’ve been accused of every terrible thing you can think of. In one magazine, they had an awful story about Prince Charles right beside one about me. But no one is shunning Prince Charles,” he said.
