Meghan Markle’s Dad May Be ‘Depressed,’ ‘Self-Medicating With Alcohol,’ Netizens Say

Meghan Markle has not spoken to her dad, Thomas Markle Sr., in months.

On the online forum site Quora, royal fans are wondering what must be wrong about the former lighting director. Last year, he posed for fake photos just before his daughter’s wedding.

Thomas also skipped Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding and said that he suffered from a heart attack and had to undergo surgery. He also exposed the details of Markle’s handwritten letter to him amid their ongoing feud.

Cheryl Collins, an international language and culture consultant, said that it is possible for the 75-year-old to be depressed so he did what he did.

“He is not taking care of himself and seems to be having trouble making ends meet. He may be self-medicating with alcohol and food… After the photos of Thomas’ staged fitting, I think Thomas felt too ashamed to attend the wedding… He may very well have had a heart attack as well,” she said.

John McGlothlin, a graduate from the University of Maryland, said that Thomas is off for the simple reason that he regards the Duchess of Sussex not as his daughter but as a cash register.

“And that evidently started a long time before she met Prince Harry. The Duchess had been helping Old Fat Thomas financially since she became an actress… How about that she tried to help him financially through the years, and he lied about that repeatedly in paid interviews to make her look bad?” he said.

Marla Lynn said that Thomas had all the time in the world to get to know his daughter before she married into the royal family. The royal fan couldn’t believe how Thomas was able to live with his decision to not walk his daughter down the aisle on his special day.

Meanwhile, some royal fans also came to Thomas’ defense and blamed Markle for completely disregarding her dad since she married Prince Harry.
