Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Markle Sr., got candid about his feelings and thoughts after his daughter's recent guesting on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

The Duchess of Sussex, 40, joined her pal Ellen DeGeneres on the latter's eponymous talk show last week. During her guesting, she talked about her experience as a struggling actress. Markle recalled driving her old car with faulty doors, which forced her to climb in and out via the trunk.

Markle's dad was sad because she did not acknowledge his financial support during the interview. In an exclusive dialogue with Mirror, Thomas Sr. admitted he was disappointed that his daughter never mentioned him.

"I’m disappointed she didn’t mention me. I hooked her up with a director on the 'General Hospital' TV show and that got her a couple of lines on one of the shows, which got her a union card," Thomas Sr. said. "It’s really difficult to get a job without a card, so that was crucial. I paid for the card too. I’ve been disappointed all this hasn’t been acknowledged."

Thomas Sr. also contradicted Markle's claim that her old car had faulty doors. To the best of his recollection, the vehicle did not have any problem.

"The Ford Explorer she had in her early 20s that she mentioned was a good running vehicle. I don’t remember any time she had to crawl out of the back of it to get out, like she said," Thomas Sr. said. "The doors worked fine on that vehicle until the day she got rid of it."

Thomas Sr. also commented on Markle's children's book "The Bench." "The Ellen Show" handed out copies of the tome to the audience while a picture of her son Archie feeding chickens while wearing jeans, a T-shirt and yellow Peppa Pig Hunter wellies appeared on the screen. The Markle patriarch was not impressed with the duchess' publication.

"That book is not for children. No child would read or understand that book," he said. "That is an adult’s book, it’s for her husband. No kid would be interested. The only thing interesting for a kid in that book is the picture of the dog on the cover."

Meanwhile, an unnamed source previously told Page Six that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wouldn't be flying to the U.K. for the holidays. If they planned to do so, "they would have communicated it to their family by now," added the source.

Thomas Sr. commented on the Sussexes' Christmas plans away from the Queen. Markle's dad said Prince Harry should spend the holidays with his grandmother because she's already 95.

"Harry should go, without a doubt. This might be the last chance he gets to see his grandmother. I really feel bad for her, they have treated her so poorly and been so rude. I have great respect for the Queen and the Royal Family," Markle's dad said.
