Meghan Markle’s Due Date Only Weeks Away, Won’t Seek Advice From Kate
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expected to welcome their firstborn in a few weeks.
A royal spokeswoman told Express that the Duchess of Sussex has no upcoming official royal engagements in the coming weeks but still has private meeting schedules. This prompted many to believe that Markle is officially on maternity leave.
Markle is believed to be already eight months along and will be expecting her first baby around the end of April to the beginning of May, which suggests that her due date could be six weeks away.
Since Markle will be a mom soon, there are talks as to whom she would call for help whenever she needs tips about her new role. Royal expert Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight that Markle can turn to her sister-in-law Middleton for tips, but she also doubts that the soon-to-be mom will do this.
“Well, if Meghan is looking for advice when it comes to raising a royal baby then, of course, you know she doesn't have to look any further than Kate,” Nicholl noted. “That said, I don't think they have this sort of close relationship where Meghan is necessarily seeking advice from Kate.”
“I think the advice that Meghan has been taking has been from her close friends, Amal Clooney, Serena Williams, Jessica Mulroney,” she continued.
Markle celebrated her baby shower with her friends in New York and Nicholl pointed out that the pregnant royal has certainly been talking to them about her plans for her baby. Markle’s extravagant baby shower in the Big Apple was heavily criticized because it was more “celebrity” than “royal.”
Meanwhile, the pregnant duchess was last seen joining Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William and Kate Middleton at the Commonwealth Day service on Monday. She donned a white tailored coat with matching hat and a dress designed by Victoria Beckham. However, Markle’s critics didn’t like her hat and they compared it to the ones nurses and cooks wear.
During her outings, Markle still wears towering heels. A number were concerned for the duchess because the last thing pregnant women want is an unexpected fall. However, Markle’s yoga practice might have helped her wear sky-high heels comfortably despite her growing baby bump because people who do a lot of yoga have a much stronger sense of balance.
