Meghan Markle’s Father ‘Embarrassed’ By Duchess, Prince Harry’s Decision To Step Back

Meghan Markle’s father is embarrassed by her and Prince Harry’s decision to step back from their royal duties.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they were quitting as senior members of the royal family. Markle’s father Thomas Markle Sr. confessed that he was ashamed of their decision.

“What they have decided to do is, to me, embarrassing. I think when they got married, they married into royalty and they knew what they were getting themselves into. That’s been Harry’s life, Meghan’s had a similar kind of life,” Thomas said on ITV’s “Good Morning Britain.”

“I think they have hurt the queen. I think they have hurt the royals and it just doesn’t work to be going to another country to be serving England. It’s never going to work.”

Markle’s dad went on and said that he was also a little sorry for the monarch. However, he doesn’t believe that his daughter was affected by the racist attacks against her because she had no issues with race and the United Kingdom is “far more liberal” than the United States.

“There’s never been a problem in terms of race with Meghan at her school or any place, and I haven’t noticed it in England at all. I don’t think she’s being bullied in any way, or any shape because of racism.”

Markle has not been on speaking terms with her dad since she married Prince Harry. Thomas was supposed to give Markle away on her big day but he canceled his attendance because he got a heart surgery and was still recovering but Markle has reportedly stopped talking to him.

Markle is not on good terms with her family except for her mom, Doria Ragland. In fact, her mother was the only family member present when she walked down the aisle.

Following Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to step back, the duchcess’ half-sister Samantha issued a statement. She said she was not fully surprised if Markle could wreck the royal family because she did the same to their own family. Samantha stressed that there was no “Markle family rift” and all of them felt that she ghosted them.

She also expressed her worries for Prince Harry and Archie. Samantha said that she was bothered if they could ever find happiness.
