Meghan Markle is still not on speaking terms with her dad, Thomas Markle Sr.

Ahead of the Duchess of Sussex’s baby’s birth, royal photographer Arthur Edwards said that the saddest thing about the Markle family’s ongoing feud is that Thomas and Markle’s half-siblings won’t get to celebrate the arrival of Baby Sussex with the “Suits” alum.

“Apparently, the father learned of it from a magazine that she was having a baby so there’s obviously friction there. They’re going to miss a great event and I wish that schism could end, could heal, because a new baby in the family, granddad would be so excited to be there to see that,” he told Express.

Edwards is also confident that the arrival of Prince Harry and Markle’s baby could finally put an end to the Duchess of Sussex feud with her dad’s side of the family. However, royal expert Duncan Larcombe thinks otherwise.

In the documentary “Meghan and Harry: A Royal Baby Story,” he said that Thomas may never be granted the chance to meet his grandchild. His statement came just one day after the former lighting director told “Good Morning Britain” that he is still hopeful that he could meet his grandchild one day.

A source close to Thomas told Express that the 74-year-old has also been very busy choosing what gift to send to Markle after her baby is born.

“He is still clinging to hope that his daughter would call him at some stage to share her happiness. He has asked, ‘What else can I do?’” the friend said.

Unfortunately for Thomas, it seems that he won’t get the news about the birth of his grandchild until after the information is made public online or in the newspapers. Prince Harry and Markle announced last week that they will keep the birth of their baby a secret until after they have celebrated as a family.

Markle is scheduled to give birth sometime at the end of this month or early May.
