Meghan Markle’s Friends Could Cause Trouble For Queen Elizabeth And Royal Rules
Ever since Meghan Markle married Prince Harry, there has been talk the former “Suits” actress would bring change to the monarchy. Following her star-studded, baby shower in New York City, royal commentators suggested Queen Elizabeth may be worried about how much of an impact the Duchess of Sussex could have on the royal family and protocol.
Members of the British royal family typically don’t have baby showers, but Meghan, who is American, flew back to the states to celebrate her baby alongside powerful women including Amal Clooney, Gayle King and Serena Williams.
During an appearance on talkRADIO, royal expert Dan Wootton claimed Meghan’s friendships could influence how she handles her role as the Duchess of Sussex.
“This group of friends are going to be telling Meghan to not listen to what some stuck up, boring members of the royal households are telling you,” he said.
“The fact she is prepared to keep these people around her shows that she’s going to make some real change,” Wootton added.
The commentator noted Meghan surrounded herself with strong women before she met Harry, and she has managed to continue forming friendships with influential people after associating herself with the royal family.
“Amal Clooney and Gayle King were not friends with Meghan Markle before she met Prince Harry. These are new, powerful friends she is making as a result of her relationship with Harry,” he explained
Wootton revealed that Meghan’s squad could cause trouble for British royals. “f you look at the bunch of women who she was with at this baby shower, if you were a conservative stickler to the rules working within the Royal Family, you would be worried about this.”
Nonetheless, Kensington Palace has not acknowledged reports claiming there is concern about how Meghan could change the Monarchy.
