Meghan Markle’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, recently slammed the rumors suggesting the Duchess of Sussex is planning a secret reunion with their dad Thomas Markle Sr.

Last weekend, the Daily Mail reported that Markle will be allotting two days from her upcoming trip to the United States to meet with her father. However, Samantha said that this isn’t the case.

While speaking with The Sun, Samantha said, “I speak to him every day and it’s sad but, no, they have not contacted him. There is no meeting planned, that is PR spin. The PR machines can stop trying to make out she’s making an effort. She is not.”

Samantha has been estranged from her half-sister since 2015, but she maintains a close relationship with their dad. The book author has also been Thomas’ most ardent defender amid his ongoing feud with Markle and the royal family. During her recent interview, Samantha said that she feels bad for their dad because her half-sister has been ignoring him.

Two weeks ago, Thomas sat down for an interview with the Daily Mail and said that he has been cut off from his daughter’s life by the royal family.

“I used to have a phone number and text number for her personal aides at the palace, but after I said a few critical words about the royal family changing Meghan, they cut me off,” he said (via Express).

The former lighting director also expressed his sadness over the possibility of never meeting his future grandchildren.

“How tragic is that, to deprive a child of its grandfather because I said a few things critical of the royal family. They want me to be silent, they want me to just go away. But I won’t be silenced,” he said.

In his same interview, Thomas said that he thinks it would be easier for his daughter if he just dies.
