Meghan Markle’s ‘Secretly’ Recorded Meltdown Video Rumor Revisited As She Leaves Royal Role
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are currently all over the news for their decision to step down from their royal roles, but this time last year, the Duchess of Sussex was being discussed by the media for a very different reason.
Last January, a report from Express claimed that a video existed of the royal having a “meltdown” over Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton’s children’s titles. The speculated footage in question, which was never publicly released, was reportedly recorded “secretly” by a palace aide.
The outlet reported at the time, via the Canadian celebrity news site The Talko, that Meghan’s so-called “meltdown” was a result of her learning that her then-unborn child would not get a “His and Her Royal Highness title” like Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis received.

Speaking on the rumored tape, The Talko presenter Alexis Slifer sounded off on the allegations on YouTube, saying, “We are talking about Meghan Markle Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex possibly being exposed for who she truly is which isn’t really a surprise because ever since she has been involved with the Royal Family there’s been drama at every corner.”
The British royal family never made a statement regarding the rumor, that hasn’t stopped other reports from surfacing about reported meltdowns involving Markle. One week after the Duke and Duchess announced they would be taking a step back from their senior roles, The Sun reported that Harry decided to so quickly in order to stop his wife from “having a meltdown.”
“The statement was rushed out and part of the reason for that is that Harry knew he needed to take swift action,” a source said. “Meghan has not settled in the UK and he knows that and wants her to be happy.”
