Meghan Markle's Sister Samantha On Joining 'CBB': 'Life Is About Cashing In'
Meghan Markle's sister, Samantha Markle, wants to cash in on the duchess' fame.
Rumors previously claimed that the Duchess of Sussex's half-sister may appear on an upcoming season of "Celebrity Big Brother." Finally, Samantha has addressed the rumors.
During a recent interview with Inside Edition, she confirmed that she's open to any opportunities, including a stint on the reality show. However, she stressed that she wouldn't be in the house to talk about Markle. "Why not? Life is about cashing in, you… take opportunities as they arise and hopefully you enjoy the ride," Samantha said (via Mirror). "And you can make it as positive as you can, there’s nothing wrong with it. The purpose of that show would not be to discuss [Meghan]."
It was reported earlier that Samantha may appear on "Big Brother" for a royal shakeup. Markle's half-sister is "high on the list of priority" because the theme for the next show is "Scandal," which makes her ideal for it.
The producers are reportedly hoping that Samantha has more to say about the Duchess of Sussex. However, based on Samantha's recent interview, it seemed that she would not be there for Markle but to cash in from the show.
Samantha said earlier that she would like to make a reality show about their family. She believes that it would be interesting to watch because it would give the people a glimpse of the Markles behind closed doors.
"I'm ready for it and rolling up my darn sleeves. I want a showdown!" Samantha said about taking their family drama on TV. "All these lowlifes are trying to get their fame on Meghan and all I was doing is writing a book about that honors her. My family are all pitting against each other – there's too much family drama. I’m not really interested in fame, I just want to speak the truth."
Samantha's book "In The Shadows of the Duchess" is coming up and it will include an "in-depth look" at the royal wedding. She also promised her readers that "opening the book and reading it puts a spotlight on the shadows."
"Everyone will just have to read it to see what really goes on in the shadows," Samantha said. "My book is much more comprehensive as it definitely takes an in-depth look. (It is an) in-depth look at the unspoken dynamics through and beyond the wedding."
