Meghan Markle’s Touching ‘Love Letter’ To Mom Doria Revisited On Mother’s Day
Meghan Markle once wrote a touching love letter to her mom, Doria Ragland.
On Mother’s Day, the letter, which the Duchess of Sussex posted on her former lifestyle blog The Tig, is being revisited. Markle shares a close relationship with her mom. Ragland was the only family member present at her daughter’s wedding. She was also one of the first people who met her grandson, Archie Harrison.
In the letter, Markle called her mom a free-spirit. She also said that Ragland taught her some of the most important lessons in life.
“She was keeping me safe. She was teaching me to take care of my body,” Markle wrote. “She was introducing me to history and fostering a love of being outdoors. She was planting the seed for me to become a foodie… She was showing me how to be a daughter, not just in that moment, but for when I became that grown woman for right now, and 30 years from now, she was loving me, so tightly,” she added.
Markle grew up with Ragland in the United States. As such, the two are celebrating Mother’s Day on Sunday. But Markle currently resides in the United Kingdom, where Mother’s Day has already been celebrated.
As of late, it is still unclear how Markle and Ragland would celebrate the special occasion especially now that the “Suits” alum is a mom herself. Markle gave birth to Archie Harrison on May 6 at 5:26 a.m. Multiple sources have claimed that she gave birth at the Portland Hospital in London.
Shortly after the birth of her son, Markle was transported to Frogmore Cottage, where she is currently enjoying her maternity leave. The Duchess of Sussex would be free from her royal duties for the next 6 months.
She will return to work sometime in October to attend the annual summit for One Young World, a global forum supporting young leaders across the globe.
