Meghan Trainor Admits She And Charlie Puth Had ‘Drunk Makeout Session’ Before AMAs Kiss

Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth, who insist they are nothing but friends, have kissed several times. Once was during Puth’s music video for “Marvin Gaye,” and then another time was during a performance of that song during the American Music Awards in November. Well, Trainor recently admitted that she and Puth have locked lips one other time: during a recording session.

While opening up about her friendship with the “One Call Away” singer for the May issue of Seventeen, Trainor revealed that she kissed Puth,24, while they were in the studio working on a duet.

“Um, when we recorded … I don’t know if he’s going to be mad I said that!” Trainor said. “We were next to each other, recording a duet, and then I kissed him.”

According to the outlet, Trainor referred to it as a “drunk makeout session” and said it never happened again. “It was cool. And then we never did it again. Ever,” she said. “When we’d hang out, it would be like buddies.”

Despite her apparent fondness for kissing Puth, the 22-year-old singer told the magazine that she’s single and thinks her career and hectic work schedule is interfering with her dating life.

“It’s hard because when I wasn’t famous, I got attention,” she said. “Guys flirted with me all the time. And then I got famous, and guys won’t look at me! And if they do, they’re terrified.”

While Trainor said she’s not dating anyone at the moment, her friend Puth is rumored to be hooking up with Selena Gomez. According to Us Weekly, the pair’s fling is “not serious” but Gomez is “super into” Puth. Another source told the outlet that it’s nothing more than a “flirty friendship.”

In November, Puth opened up about his closeness to Gomez telling Us Weekly: “I don’t know if anyone really understands me. Which is why I hang out with Selena Gomez. She gets me.”
