Melania Trump allegedly delayed moving into the White House and renegotiated her prenup with President Donald Trump to ensure her son Barron's future, a new book claims.
The first lady has always been straightforward when it comes to her son. She has said it before, Barron is her priority.
Author Mary Jordan claims in her upcoming book, “The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump,” Melania renegotiated her prenup with the POTUS to make sure that her child would never be shut out of the Trump family business.
Melania apparently knew that Trump would need a first lady by his side when he moves into the White House. Due to this, he FLOTUS allegedly took advantage of it and delayed her move by demanding President Trump to amend their financial agreement in what she reportedly referred to as “taking care of Barron.”
“She wanted proof in writing that when it came to financial opportunities and inheritance, Barron would be treated as more of an equal to Trump's oldest three children,” Jordan wrote in an excerpt released by The Washington Post.
Trump has said many times publicly that he supports the idea of signing prenuptial agreements to protect one’s wealth.
“I'm a big pre-nup believer, even though they're nasty terrible documents. I'm a big believer in that stuff,” the president said in a previous interview.
However, Melania’s spokesperson, Sephanie Grisham, has denied the claims in Jordan's book. According to her, the author's latest work belongs to the “fiction” genre.
“Yet another book about Mrs. Trump with false information and sources. This book belongs in the fiction genre,” Grisham said in a statement sent to Daily Mail.
However, CNN correspondent Kate Bennett previously provided other reasons why Melania didn’t move into the White House immediately in her book “Free Melania.” The author revealed that Trump’s wife had it redecorated because she didn’t like the beige and burnt orange palette the Obamas’ decorator used for the room she would be occupying.
Meanwhile, Jordan’s book is not the only one to put out claims about Melania that Grisham has shut down. Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former political aide to Trump, also wrote in her 2018 book “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House” that Melania was itching to divorce Trump and was only waiting for the perfect timing – when Trump would be out of the White House.
Like Jordan's prenup claims, Grisham stated that this was not true. In fact, the FLOTUS and Newman “rarely, if ever, interacted” when the latter was still working for Trump.
“It’s disappointing to her that she is lashing out and retaliating in such a self-serving way, especially after all the opportunities given to her by the president,” Grisham said.
