Melania Trump takes pride in her Be Best campaign and remains mum on coronavirus.

On Tuesday, the First Lady of the United States attended the National PTA Legislative Conference as schools work to contain the outbreak. Over 380 schools have already been closed in an attempt to combat the disease which took 30 lives in the country, Daily Mail reported.

Coronavirus was on the agenda at the event in Alexandria, Virginia. The National Parent Teacher Association President Leslie Boggs even asked the audience, “We’re fighting what?” and the audience replied, “Corona,” before she introduced Melania. However, the FLOTUS did not mention coronavirus in her speech. Instead, she boasted about the success of her Be Best campaign.

“When I launched the Be Best Initiative, my first goal was to raise awareness of three primary issues that children face today – social-emotional health, opioid abuse, and online safety. My second goal was to shed light on programs and people across the country and around the globe that successfully combat these problems,” Melania said.

“Three years later, I am proud to say we have made great strides in fulfilling this mission. I have visited schools, hospitals, communities, non-profits, private companies, and government agencies that support and protect our children and our communities.”

Melania has been promoting her Be Best initiative. President Donald Trump’s wife also talked about it during the Governors’ Spouses’ Luncheon. However, several criticized the FLOTUS for encouraging other states to use the campaign for positive change. Instead, they urged Melania to start in her own home first.

One of Melania’s goals for her Be Best campaign is to protect kids from bullying. However, several questioned it because they consider Melania’s husband a bully.

Trump acknowledged his wife’s Be Best campaign during his third State of the Union address. But the FLOTUS was only mocked for the POTUS’ move. Many said that Melania’s campaign was a “joke” and a “failure.”

In related news, Trump compared coronavirus to the common flu. However, several online users did not agree especially since unlike the common flu, there is no vaccine or antiviral drug available for the disease. An online user from Italy also said that they made such a big mistake when they treated coronavirus just like the flu.
