Melania Trump was lambasted by Twitter users after promoting Be Best at the Governors’ Spouses’ Luncheon.
The first lady of the United States hosted a gathering for the governors’ spouses at the White House. At the gathering, Melania discussed the values of her Be Best initiative and shared how they can use it for positive change in their states and communities.
However, many online users negatively reacted to what Melania did. One said that instead of focusing on others and how they could make a positive change, the FLOTUS should fix her own family first and start with her husband President Donald Trump.
“Start #BeBest with your husband,” @linacre_mary commented.
“Worry about your own house. It's not like the wives of Governor's had a choice to show up. God Bless the wives of Governor's for being strong for our individual states,” @JylTracy added.
"Maybe start at home..." @Adg2973 opined.
“shouldn’t ‘bebest’ start at home?” @gabrielle0316 wrote.
“You should start with Donald,Ivanka,Donald Jr and Eric,” @lbblby added.
Despite the backlash, Melania’s supporters praised her. One said that she is an “amazing FLOTUS.” Several also expressed their joy on Instagram for having Melaniain the highest office.
“You are an amazing first lady our country is so lucky to have you. Praying for you and the president all the time,” sydney22279 wrote.
“You are the classiest, hardest working First Lady we have ever had!” msevin521 commented.
“Thank you for being an amazing role model and an image of class,” littleashmink added.
In related news, Melania is expected to play a bigger role in Trump’s re-election. According to Kate Bennett, a CNN correspondent, the FLOTUS who doesn’t join rallies will headline at least two fundraising events this spring that will support Trump Victory Fund, a joint PAC between the Trump 2020 campaign and the Republican National Committee. The first one is set in March in Los Angeles area while the second one will be held at Mar-a-Lago.
