Melinda Gates Bonds With Daughter Jennifer In New York Ahead Of Weekend Wedding

Melinda Gates is spending time with her eldest daughter, Jennifer Gates, who will be marrying her fiancé Nayel Nassar over the weekend.

In the photos obtained by People, Melinda, 57, appeared to be in high spirits when she was spotted with her daughter, Jennifer, 25. Melinda made a statement in her pink ensemble during the sighting. On the other hand, the bride-to-be looked stunning in her lacy white dress.

"They kicked off the celebrations yesterday in N.Y.C.," an unnamed source told the outlet. "Jennifer was with her family and friends yesterday and Nayel with his. They both seem very excited about their wedding week."

Aside from joining Jennifer, Melinda was involved in the preparation of her daughter's special day. The tipster said it would be a "big wedding." The mother and daughter are very close that's why Melinda is a "huge part of the wedding preparations."

Jennifer announced her engagement to Nassar in January 2020 on Instagram. She shared a sweet photo of them in the snow. Jennifer was seen covering her face with her hands while rocking a diamond ring. She also leaned on Nassar, who was visibly smiling while looking at her.

In the caption, she shared how Nassar "swept me off my feet this past weekend" with his surprising proposal. According to Jennifer, the proposal happened "in the most meaningful location" over their many shared passions.

"I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives learning, growing, laughing and loving together. Yes a million times over," she added.

Jennifer is Melinda and Bill Gates' eldest child. They are also parents to son Rory John, 22, and daughter Phoebe Adele, 19.

Melinda and Bill announced their split in May after 27 years of marriage. The exes said they decided to end their marriage because they could no longer grow together as a couple. They finalized their divorce just 3 months after the filing.

Jennifer has been maintaining a tight relationship with both of her parents. She spent time with the Microsoft co-founder in May shortly after her parents announced their divorce.
