Melissa McCarthy still gets star struck these days.
At the Golden Globes two weeks ago, the Bridesmaids actress found herself in complete awe of the beauty and kindness of Brangelina (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie).
So I'm already in some weird altered state talking to Brad and Angelina. They're so nice and chatty and really bubbly, McCarthy told Ellen DeGeneres, in an episode airing on Thursday.
Finally, I got a little weird and I was like, 'You have to stop for a minute because it's a lot, visually, to take in,' she added.
McCarthy was on hand to celebrate DeGeneres' 54th birthday, in an episode that included surprises from Jimmy Kimmel and video messages from the cast of Modern Family.
But back to McCarthy's exchange with Brangelina.
It is a lot visually to take in. She's like weirdly glowing, like she's so beautiful. He's kind of cute too. And then I was like, 'OK, I'm sorry, I needed to regroup.' They're kind of a lot, McCarthy said.
According to McCarthy, her star-struck night continued, thanks to a little pull on the hand by Meryl Streep.
I literally, like, my brain snapped in two. And then I really didn't know what to say, so I just kept on going, 'Oh my God, you're Meryl Streep! recounted McCarthy.
On Tuesday, McCarthy, 41, joined a very special club in Hollywood. She can now add Oscar nominee before her name.
She is up for a Best Supporting Actress award at the 84th Academy Awards, along with Berenice Bejo (The Artist), Jessica Chastain (The Help), Janet McTeer (Albert Nobbs) and Octavia Spencer (The Help).
McCarthy, who currently stars on the CBS sitcom Mike & Molly, can next be seen on the big screen in This is Forty, opposite Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, Megan Fox and Albert Brooks. The Judd Apatow flick is a spinoff of the 2007 comedy, Knocked Up, starring Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl.
