Melissa McCarthy has teamed up with STXfilms for the upcoming R-rated puppet movie, “The Happytime Murders.”

STXfilms Chairman Adam Fogelson released a statement (via Deadline) announcing McCarthy’s involvement in the project. “Melissa McCarthy is the reigning queen of comedy, and we believe she will make the ‘The Happytime Murders’ the kind of hysterical, edgy, viral event that audiences today crave. This is the kind of script and material that was made for Melissa’s smart and boundary-pushing sensibilities,” the statement read.

McCarthy also expressed her excitement over her upcoming movie and said that it’s like a dream come true for her. “When a really good script combines puppet strippers, Los Angeles’ underbelly and comedy, it’s like my fever dream has finally come true,” she said.

McCarthy and her husband, Ben Falcone, will also serve as producers alongside Jeffrey Hayes. Lisa Henson and John W. Hyde will act as executive producers. The production for “The Happytime Murders” will kick off in August, but there is still no word on when it will be released in the United States.

Meanwhile, McCarthy has served as an inspiration to thousands of people across the world. But the actress said she felt the most accomplished when the likes of Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie started talking to her and complimenting her on how hilarious she is on television and in her films.

While speaking with Rolling Stone, earlier this year, McCarthy recounted the time the estranged couple waved at her at an awards show. While at the Golden Globes, McCarthy saw Pitt and Jolie wave at her. She wasn’t sure at first, but when she looked behind her, no one was there. McCarthy then walked up to the power couple and had a conversation with them. Unfortunately, she didn’t understand anything they said because she just stared at them intently. McCarthy told Pitt and Jolie, “Oh [crap], I haven’t heard anything you said. I need a minute to take this in because it’s a lot, visually. I was just looking.’”

There was also one instance when Streep tugged at McCarthy’s arm, and “The Devil Wears Prada” star started saying nice things to her. All the actress ended up telling Streep was, “Holy [crap], you’re Meryl Streep!” again and again.

McCarthy also inspired even more people when she decided to lose some weight. During an interview with Refinery 29, one fan asked McCarthy what her secret was to losing weight. The actress admitted that it was a struggle and said that she will probably gain the weight back and then lose it again.

“I have, but I’ll be back again. I’ll be up, I’ll be down, probably for the rest of my life. The thing is, if that is the most interesting thing about me, I need to go have a lavender farm in Minnesota and give this up. There has to be something more. There are so many more intriguing things about women than their butt or their this or their that. It can’t be the first question every time, or a question at all,” she said.
