Daimler overhauls B-Class Mercedes to lure new and younger market

Riding on strong sales across its various families of cars, Mercedes-Benz USA on Wednesday reported a 13.3 percent Year on Year (YoY) rise in November sales.

The company sold 19,037 vehicles in November as against 16,797 vehicles during the same period a year ago.

Total vehicle sales, combining Mercedes-Benz USA and smart USA, increased 10.3 percent to 19,248 units year-over-year. Year-to-date, total sales increased 13.4 percent to 208,825 units.

Mercedes-Benz USA reported its highest November sales volume since 2007 with sales of 19,037, an increase of 13.3 percent for the month. Total sales include 18,208 passenger cars, light truck vehicles and 829 Sprinter vans. On a year-to-date basis, sales increased 19.4 percent to 203,468.

The 9th generation E-Class sales were 4,986 units, bringing its year-to-date total to 55,869. C-Class sales were 3,930 units and the versatile M-Class SUV sales were 3,470 units for the month.

The Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) program, MBUSA sold 6,275 vehicles in November, up 35.6 percent compared to November 2009 sales of 5,369 vehicles. Year-to-date sales for the MBCPO program were 74,363, accounting for a 11.3 percent increase over 2009 year-to-date sales of 66, 788 vehicles.
