'Merry Swissmas' Lifetime Movie Premiere: Cast, Trailer, Synopsis
The It's A Wonderful Lifetime programming event is officially kicking off for the 2022 holiday season with the premiere of its first new festive film, "Merry Swissmas." The movie, starring Jodie Sweetin and Tim Rozon, debuts Friday night.
The stars kicking off this event may be ones that Lifetime fans recognize, but not from projects on the network. Sweetin is of course best known by many for her role as Stephanie Tanner on both "Full House" and "Fuller House," but she hasn't stepped into the world of Lifetime's holiday movies yet. She has, however, starred in several Hallmark titles, including "Finding Santa," "Entertaining Christmas," "Merry and Bright" and "A Cozy Christmas Inn."
Rozon, meanwhile, might also be familiar to fans for his turn in Hallmark's "Christmas Town," but more likely from his roles as Mutt Schitt on "Schitt's Creek" and Doc Holliday on "Wynonna Earp."
The two are joined in the project by Mikaela Lily Davies ("Twisted Seduction"), David Pinard ("Picture Perfect Romance") and Jane Wheeler ("A Royal Queens Christmas").
So what will happen when Sweetin and Rozon team up not only for their first project together but also their first Lifetime Christmas movies? According to a synopsis, fans can expect plenty of beautiful Swiss scenery and Christmas traditions, as well as love and forgiveness.
"Alex (Sweetin) has wonderful memories of Christmas with her best friend Beth (Davies), until Beth starts dating Alex's ex, Jesse (Pinard). Because she has missed the last few Christmases with her family due to her demanding job as an architect, Alex is excited to spend the holidays with her mother, Caroline (Wheeler), who is opening an inn in Switzerland," the synopsis reads. "Much to her dismay, she learns that Jesse and Beth are also visiting for the inn's opening. When Alex meets Liam (Rozon), a single father and the manager of her mother's inn, Liam attempts to show her all the Christmas traditions and culture of Switzerland and helps Alex open herself up to love and forgiveness this holiday season."
Will Alex finally find it in her heart to move past the betrayal of the past and maybe find new love?
"Merry Swissmas" airs Saturday at 8 p.m. EDT on Lifetime.
