A virtual benefit concert aired for Stephen Sondheim Sunday night, but it wasn’t the acclaimed lyricist and composer that was the star. Meryl Streep stole the show, along with Audra McDonald and Christine Baranski who all sang in their robes.

The concert, “Take Me to the World: A Sondheim 90th Birthday Celebration” was in honor of the “West Side Story” lyricist’s 90th birthday and was hosted by Broadway.com to raise money for Artists Striving to End Poverty, an organization that helps troubled teens channel their feelings into art, Variety reported.

Streep and her girl gang didn’t appear until late in the two and a half-hour show, but they did not disappoint. The trio sang “The Ladies Who Lunch” from Sondheim’s “Company,” and audiences quickly reacted to the performance calling it the “mood” of the year.

Others couldn’t get over how well the three ladies captured the essence of being in quarantine — wearing pajamas or robes, drinking and zooming with friends.

And one user pointed out that Streep was sitting in front of an almost entirely empty bookshelf, minus the small collection of seagulls.

This isn’t the first time “The Devil Wears Prada” actress has become a popular meme. One of her most infamous meme moments was from the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards when she cupped her hands around her mouth to shout something from the audience, according to Insider. Countless memes have been created from the image and have been widely circulated since.

Although Streep, Baranski and McDonald’s performance wasn’t the only celebrity appearance, it is the one that has made it into meme culture. Other celebrities that paid tribute to Sondheim include Jake Gyllenhaal, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Patti LuPone, who performed in the original Broadway “Company” cast, "The Politician" star Ben Platt and “Booksmart” star Beanie Feldstein, according to Entertainment Weekly.
