Argentina will host Mexico for the second time in five days, with the two sides facing off in a friendly in Mendoza on Tuesday after Argentina earned a 2-0 victory Friday in Cordoba.

Ramiro Funes Mori scored with a solid header in the 44th minute and an own goal by California-born Isaac Brizuela in the 83rd minute helped Argentina earn a morale-boosting win after suffering a loss to rival Brazil in October.

Lionel Messi won't be part of the lineup on Tuesday. The Barcelona superstar hasn't competed with Argentina since the World Cup.

"We all want Messi back in the national team,” said Juventus attacking midfielder Paulo Dybala.

“We all know the importance of Leo for us, but it’s up to him. We are a group made up of many young players and we need the support of the people.”

Argentina center back Nicolas Otamendi is also out with a knock, while Mexico winger Hirving Lozano is battling a knee problem.

With top stars out, and with World Cup qualifying more than a year away, much of the lineup for both sides will be heavy on young players.
