Ex-porn star Mia Khalifa could not hold back her tears after learning about the twin explosions that rocked her home country Lebanon. The sports commentator shared an Instagram Story in which she opened up about how the government failed the people of Lebanon.
Taking it to Instagram, the 27-year-old celebrity urged her fans to donate and help the people of Beirut. Talking about the entire situation, Khalifa noted that the government has completely “failed” to protect the people of Lebanon.
She compared the situation in Lebanon with the situation in the U.S. and shared that she never understood the “hatred” for police as she does now.
“Share or donate or do anything you can because Lebanon’s government failed them (people) too. It is not just America. Man, I have never understood the hatred for police as I do right now,” Khalifa said in the video.
The TikTok star also shared a link along with the video where people can go and donate to help those affected by the twin explosions in Lebanon.
In another video that she posted on her official account, the former adult film actress blamed Hezbollah, a Lebanese militant organization, for the explosion and slammed them for the crimes that it has “inflicted” on the people.
She also claimed that the explosions did not happen because of “fireworks.”
“Not Hezbollah lying to the Lebanese people about hiding explosives on our soil, saying this blast was caused by FIREWORKS. Fireworks? Let me say this once and say it clearly: You are a disgrace and the Lebanese people deserve better,” Khalifa wrote on the photo-sharing platform.
Khalifa is not allowed to enter her home country because of her stint in the porn industry.
Beirut was jolted by two explosions near the city’s ports. According to various reports, the explosions took place in a warehouse storing fireworks. However, the exact cause for the blasts is currently unknown.
At least 78 died and more than 4,000 people have been left injured in the devastation caused by the incident.
