Michael Phelps And Wife Nicole Johnson Share Wedding Photos After Celebrating Marriage In Mexico
Michael Phelps and Nicole Johnson already said “I do,” but the secretly married couple celebrated their nuptials with a wedding ceremony in Cabo, Mexico. The lovebirds then took to social media to share photos from their big day.
According to TMZ, Phelps and Johnson (who changed her name to Nicole Phelps on social media) had a quiet ceremony with family and friends on Friday. The Olympic swimmer and Johnson both shared Instagram photos from the private service showing them as they walked down the aisle after exchanging vows.
Entertainment Tonight reported that Johnson wore a white Julie Vino Bridal gown that had a lace cut-out bustier with a sweetheart neckline and a thigh-high slit. She paired the beautiful gown with white heels and a headband. Phelps, on the other hand, wore a tan suit to the ceremony.
Although Phelps and Johnson had a wedding ceremony over the weekend, it was recently revealed that the pair actually married on June 13. Phelps confirmed the news Thursday in a Facebook Live video. “I’ve been married for a while. A couple months,” he said. “I had to keep it a secret from y’all. I had to keep hush-hush from you guys. But Nicole and I are married, we are officially and now we are getting the chance to kind of kick it and hang out now.”
When asked by a fan why he kept the wedding a secret for so long, the athlete simply said: “Just because.”
In the Facebook video chat with fans, Phelps also revealed that he and Johnson wanted to expand their family and another baby Phelps could be on the way soon. “Baby No. 2 may be coming,” he teased. “Who knows, though?”
Phelps and Johnson dated off and on for eight years before getting engaged last February. The couple has a 5-month-old son named Boomer.
