Michelle Obama Congratulates Biden-Harris, Hopes They Bring 'Dignity And Competence' To White House
President-elect Joe Biden and Vice-President-elect Kamala Harris are projected to win the 2020 presidential race and they’re receiving love from former White House residents and celebrities.
Around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Biden surpassed 270 electoral votes, which in turn, makes him the 46th president of the United States. There has been an uproar of congratulations and respect to the president and vice-president-elect over news organizations and social media.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama is one of those individuals that was quick to congratulate the two 2020 presidential election winners. She took her thoughts to Twitter to explain what she hopes they’ll bring back to the White House.
She replied to her own tweet saying, “Thank you to all of you who poured every ounce of your hope and determination into this democracy over these past four years, registering voters, getting them to the polls, keeping folks informed. More votes were cast in this election than ever before. It’s because of you.”
There've been both positive and negative responses to Michelle’s tweet. Some are saying the announcement isn’t official, while some argue it pretty much is.
Some users have even credited former President Barack Obama and Michelle for this victory in the White House.
President-elect Joe Biden has already added, “President-Elect” to his Twitter bio. He also tweeted when the news came out about his succession.
“America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not. I will keep the faith that you have placed in me.”
