Michelle Obama Looks Stunning In Blush Naeem Khan Ball Gown For Nordic State Dinner
Michelle Obama looked stunning in a blush gown by one of her favorite designers, Naeem Khan, to the Nordic state dinner at White House on Friday. The first lady of the U.S. showed off her sartorial style in the strapless gown. Singer Demi Lovato was roped in for entertaining the guests at the dinner by her performance.
The 52-year-old’s Naeem Khan organza ball gown featured an asymmetrical shoulder, a strapless bodice that nipped at the waist and voluminous floor-sweeping skirt. The one-shoulder silk gazar gown exposed her toned arms and showed off her slender figure. “She looks great,” said U.S. President Barack Obama, complimenting his wife. Michelle quickly replied that he stepped on her dress.
The mother of two accessorized with oversize earrings by Le Vian, matching bracelets by Pasquale Bruni and lots of rings. Michelle opted to go without a necklace keeping the emphasis on her stunning ball gown. She flaunted blush-colored manicure and wore a slick of nude lip gloss.
Michelle wore black eyeliner and lots of mascara. Her brunette tresses were swept back into a messy updo with a center part. The president looked dapper in a black tuxedo paired with a crisp white shirt and matching pocket square. He completed his look with a black bow-tie and shining black lace-up shoes.
Michelle first wore a Naeem Khan gown to her first state dinner in 2009. The state dinner honored India, and the designer has been a favorite of hers since. Even her daughters, Malia and Sasha, opted for the Indian-American designer’s gowns when they attended their first-ever state dinner in March.
The Nordic state dinner honored five countries — Sweden, Iceland, Finland, Denmark and Norway. Besides, Hollywood stars like Aziz Ansari, Bellamy Young, Janelle Monae, David Letterman, Jidenna, Kyle Maclachlan, Tracee Ellis Ross, Connie Britton, Will Ferrell, Common, Billy Eichner, Al Roker, Miranda Kerr and Allison Williams were also present.
Guests were treated to Scandinavian delicacies and American cuisine such as a chicken and waffle appetizer, salt-cured ahi tuna main course and caramel almond mille-feuille for dessert. Vegetables from the White House kitchen garden also featured on the menu.
