Michelle Obama Revelation: Ex-FLOTUS And Barack 'Adjusting' To New Life Sans Malia And Sasha
Michelle Obama and Barack Obama have been together for almost three decades already. Though they look like a perfect pair, the former FLOTUS revealed that they also have their fair share of marital woes and challenges. Michelle even admitted that they make a trip to counseling if needs be.
"I know too many young couples who struggle and think somehow, there’s something wrong with them" Michelle revealed to “Good Morning America” host Robin Roberts in Nov. 2018. "I want them to know that Michelle and Barack Obama — who have a phenomenal marriage and who love each other — we work on our marriage and we get help with our marriage when we need it,” she added.
Recently, Michelle Obama revealed that living away from her two daughters – Malia Ann, 21, and Sasha, 18 – is, currently, one of the challenges that she and Barack are facing right now. The American lawyer said they are adjusting to being a household of two.
“We've rediscovered all these little pockets of time, just me and Barack, that have been filled with school events or sports practices,” Michelle told People. “We're simply spending time with each other and remembering what brought us together. Sometimes I'll get a glimpse of him and just go, ‘Hey you! Where have you been for 21 years?’ It's been fun,” she went on.
In the same interview, Michelle Obama revealed how she became emotional after dropping Sasha off into her Michigan dorm room in August. The ex-FLOTUS revealed she and Barack helped their daughter unpack and make her dorm room feel like home.
Despite the distance, she acknowledged the fact that “freedom” is one of the most important things they can give to their children. Michelle, also, debunked the claims that there is a competition between her and former President Barack Obama after she released her own book last year.
“I don't think Barack's got anything to worry about. He knows what he's doing when it comes to writing books,” she told the entertainment news publication. “He always ends up with something thoughtful and profound, as only he can,” Michelle Obama continued.
