Not since the days of Jackie Kennedy has the U.S. seen a First Lady as stylish as Michelle Obama. From designer duds to frugal finds, FLOTUS is always on point.
Her personal brand includes sleeveless sheaths to show off her toned arms, bold prints in bright colors, snug cardigans and splashy belts.
Like many women, Mrs. Obama has a husband with opinions about her clothes — but not much knowledge about them.
She told the New York Times that the president had commented on a metallic belt that she often wore. “Barack calls it my ‘Star Trek’ belt,” the first lady said . “He doesn’t understand fashion.”
“He’s always asking: ‘Is that new? I haven’t seen that before.’ It’s like, Why don’t you mind your own business? Solve world hunger. Get out of my closet.”
“You didn’t need any more shoes,” Michelle Obama said, imitating her husband. “The shoes you had on yesterday were fine. Why can’t you just wear that for the rest of the presidency?”
While you wait to see what she rocks this week at the 2016 Democratic National Convention, have a look back at some of Michelle's best looks. Launch the slideshow to see her style evolution.
