Mickey Shunick Missing: Facebook Created To Find 21-Year-Old Louisiana Woman, Nancy Grace Highlights Disappearance

The search for Mickey Shunick, a missing 21-year-old woman from Lafayette, La., is intensifying, with television personality and victims' rights advocate Nancy Grace putting a spotlight on the case.

Mickey Shunick was last seen early Saturday morning riding a black and gold bike from a friend's home in the Saint Streets area of Lafayette, La., about 60 miles southwest of Baton Rouge.

Shunick was on her way to her home near Ambassador and Congress streets when she went missing, according to Find Mickey Shunick Now, a Facebook page set up for Shunick in hopes of finding her. She was last seen wearing a pastel, multi-colored stripe shirt with light wash skinny jeans and grey shoes. Shunick was also carrying a leather backpack purse.

Nancy Grace, who has an eponymous show on Headline News and frequently puts a spotlight on missing persons cases, raised visibility of Shunick's disappearance by tweeting a Huffington Post story on the missing 21-year-old woman.

Please help us find this missing young girl!, Grace tweeted to her more than 221,000 followers.

A $10,000 reward is being offered to anyone who has information on where Shunick might be.

The Find Mickey Shunick Now Facebook page has 4,755 likes and contains photos of the missing Lousiana 21-year-old, including a photo of a smiling Shunick with a horse.

We are praying very hard for this sweet girl and her family, said Facebook user Abby Perkins.

A huge outpouring of support has been generated by the Facebook page, as residents outside of Lafayette are being made aware of Shunick's disappearance.

I saw this in my news feed and I made me so sad. Is there anything I can do out of state?, asked user Olivia Young.

About 100 people searched for Shunick on Sunday, but there were no signs of the missing Lafayette woman.

It doesn't take much of being around her to know how she is, how comfortable she is around other people, and how excited she is about life and everything that is going on. Something is clearly unusual with the circumstances, search party organizer Brettly Wilson told KATC-TV.

Wilson told the television station it's unlikely that she stopped over at someone's house or ran away out of anger.

Mickey doesn't stay at other people's houses, Mickey doesn't have boyfriends, Mickey doesn't have people that are mad at her. Your usual suspects here really aren't going on. She really would have just been going home, Wilson said, according to KATC.
