With the lines between console and PC blurring over the last few years, Microsoft has been quick to start building bridges between the two platforms. It first started with its own version of “cross-play” by allowing gamers that bought select titles digitally through the Xbox Marketplace to play those titles on PC as well as Xbox.

Microsoft has decided to take that a step further, this time with a much wider selection of games.

Microsoft announced on Thursday that it will be bringing its digital streaming service, Xbox Game Pass, to PC via Windows 10. With it, Game Pass will bring a collection of over 100 titles that includes games from Bethesda, Ubisoft, Deep Silver, and more to enjoy. Microsoft also made it clear that it will bring new titles to the PC version of Game Pass day-in-date with their physical release, much like the Xbox version of Game Pass. And, as an added bonus, PC subscribers will get a collection of other perks that includes buying games on the Microsoft Store that are up to 20% off.

What is not clear, at this time, is if it will be a separate subscription to the console version and, if so, how much it will cost.

But that wasn’t the only PC update Microsoft shared with its audience.

Phil Spencer, EVP of Microsoft Gaming, also revealed Microsoft’s intent to release more PC games on multiple PC storefronts, including Steam and the Epic Games Stores. He made it clear that he believes “you should have choice in where you buy your PC games.”

“It's critical that we make decisions that reinforce the open nature of the PC, focusing on how best to unite players on all devices around the games they love,” Spencer continued. "That philosophy will guide us as we introduce new ways to discover and play games on Windows."

Microsoft will speak more on the Xbox Game Pass for PC and more at its E3 media briefing June 9.
