Microsoft Brings Windows 11 New App Store To Windows 10 PC Users
Microsoft has opened the Windows 11 new app store experience to Windows 10 PC users.
Devices running the Windows 10 version 21H2 on the Release Preview Channel of Windows Insiders program were able to see the new Windows 11 app store upon checking for updates within the Microsoft store starting Tuesday.
The newly launched app store provides Microsoft customers with clutter-free store navigation. It moves away from the traditional WebView and is based on XAML (UWP) code allowing a more stable performance even during a slow internet connection, Windows Latest reported.
The new store features a new library where users can search and manage their downloaded as well as owned apps better than before. Microsoft also improved the speed of every app download.
With the new Windows 11 app store, Windows 10 users are reportedly enjoying a faster and better performance. The new store also allows them to navigate between different pages easily.
The new Windows 11 app store on Windows 10 allows developers to bring in all types of apps and greater support for win32 apps. Apps such as Discord, Zoom, VLC, TeamViewer and Visual Studio Code are among the list of expected addition to the family.
The new app store is open for all Windows developers. Here, app developers can encourage users to do more with their devices through promotions. Developers will be allowed to create their own editorial content to inspire and communicate to users what their apps or game has to offer.
Microsoft introduced the new Windows 11 app store in June. Users under the Windows 11 Insider Program have been enjoying its features since then.
As the new app store is available through the Insider Program, users running the non-Insider builds may download the new Windows 11 app store manually in order to enjoy its features.
First, they must download and install the updated version of Microsoft Store and open the PowerShell. Using the cd command, locate the destination of the downloaded Store update and type Add-AppxPackage
.
They may also choose to wait for the new Windows 11 app store on Windows 10 to roll out in public in the coming weeks, The Verge reported.
