Microsoft Now Boasts Over 30,000 Apps for Windows Phone; Should Apple be Alert? [Video]
The new numbers revealed by Windows Phone AppList, a website that catalogs the number of apps in the Marketplace, has shown that Microsoft has over 30,000 apps to boast about.
The Redmond-based company, which recently saw a drop in the market in terms of shares, is near to perfection when it comes to the number of apps available for its Windows-based smartphone at the Windows Phone Marketplace.
The recent numbers show that there are over 30,000 apps available. Microsoft has pulled off this feat in just 10 months since the Marketplace came to being. The company has more than 8,000 registered developers for the Windows Phone platform.
The company, however, has a long way to go if they want to compete against Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS. The company, against other rivals like HP’s WebOS and BlackBerry OS, has done pretty well in a short span of time.
Microsoft is expected to add more apps as soon as the Mango update is launched along with the next generation Windows Smartphone (Windows Phone 7), according to a mobileburn.com report.
