Microsoft says Xbox problem won't hurt Japan sales
Microsoft Corp. said on Monday it does not expect hardware problems to affect sales of its Xbox game console in Japan.
We responded extremely quickly to complaints about Xbox, said Darren Huston, president of Microsoft's Japan unit.
We believe Xbox prices in Japan are very competitive and we have a lineup of very exciting new games coming up targeting high-end users, he told Reuters.
There are no plans at present to cut prices in Japan, he said.
Microsoft plans to launch the new version of its Xbox 360 game console, the Xbox 360 Elite, on October 11 in Japan, where it trails behind machines from Nintendo Co. Ltd. and Sony Corp. (6758.T: Quote, Profile, Research).
