Mike Myers Becomes First-Time Dad
Mike Myers is a dad for the first time.
The 48-year-old funnyman and his wife of just over a year, Kelly Tisdale, became parents to a baby boy named Spike earlier this month.
He is healthy and his parents are ecstatic, a rep told People magazine.
Myers was previously married to Robin Ruzan for 12 years, before filing for divorce in 2005. The couple did not have any children together.
Myers and Tisdale, who began dating in 2006, surprised friends and fans alike by keeping details of their fall 2010 wedding secret.
Since 2010's Shrek Forever After, Myers has been noticeably absent from the Hollywood spotlight, perhaps due to this new marriage and Tisdale's pregnancy, which was announced in May.
Shrek Forever After grossed more than $752 million worldwide, making it the third most successful film of the Shrek series. The second film, Shrek 2 (2004), raked in more than $919 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.
Don't expect the Canadian actor and SNL alum to turn to full-time daddy duties any time soon. Myers is scheduled to appear in three films in 2012, including the Warner Bros. live action/computer-animated adaptation of Marvin the Martian.
