Mike Trout might not have the fame and superstardom that comes along with being one of the greatest athletes in the world, but he sure gets paid like one. The MLB star is reportedly set to sign a contract extension with the Los Angeles Angels that will push his career earnings beyond a half-billion dollars.

Trout, 27, is getting close to finalizing a 12-year deal worth $430 million, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passasn. USA Today’s Bob Nightengale has reported the extension starts after the two years on his current deal are up, paying him $363.5 million over 10 years after the 2020 season.

Los Angeles will pay Trout $33.25 million in each of the next two years as part of a six-year, $144.5 million deal he signed after his first few MLB seasons. His new extension is reportedly fully guaranteed with no opt-outs, meaning it will give him a little over $511 million in career salary.

Trout has made a little over $81 million in MLB salary, thus far, per Spotrac.

After making close to $150,000 when he played less than half of a season in 2011, Trout was paid fewer than $500,000 when he was the 2012 AL Rookie of the Year and the AL MVP runner-up. Trout signed his first extension before the start of the 2014 season, which paid him $5.25 million in 2015 and $15.25 million in 2016.

Trout landed at No.64 on Forbes’ 2018 list of highest-paid athletes. The publication estimated that the outfiedler made $23.9 million in salary and $2.5 million in endorsements.

Celebrity Net Worth estimates that Trout’s net worth is $45 million, though there’s no way to confirm if that figure is anywhere close.
