  • Mike Tyson did not stop smoking weed, not even for the big fight with Jones
  • Tyson admits to feeling pain in the ring despite smoking marijuana
  • The former heavyweight champ is known to be pro-weed

Mike Tyson came out with an impressive performance against Roy Jones Jr. but the outcome left most divided.

Regardless, some went to the extent of wondering if Tyson smoked some weed before the encounter. It turns out that he did.

Tyson admits that he has been smoking pot daily and that it had little to no effect on him. Though it was an exhibition with two-minute rounds, a boxer’s lungs need to be in top condition to go through it all.

Tyson shared in his post-fight interview with some members in the meida about his fondness for smoking marijuana.

The "Baddest Man on the Planet" mentioned how he smoked it every day and never stopped the recreational activity–not even for his in-ring collision against Jones.

“I smoked every day,” Tyson said. “I never stopped smoking.”

When he was asked if he smoked weed before he got into the ring with Jones, Tyson did not deny that fact.

This raises some questions, particularly the part on whether Tyson was numb to any pain. The former world boxing champion bared that he still felt the impact of his opponent's punches.

“No, it just numbs me. It doesn’t numb the pain,” he answered.

But the main concern now is how he was able to get past the VADA testing before the Nov. 28 clash. The substance was likely not included in the testing.

It is also worth noting that Weedmaps was one of the major sponsors for the Tyson vs. Jones pay-per-view event. The brand name could be seen all over the place, including the ring, locker room, press room, and even on-screen during the clash.

Tyson has been known to market weed. He heads Tyson Ranch over in Desert Hot Springs, California, an entertainment complex that includes a luxury resort and cannabis research facility.

Despite all this, Tyson conceded that his faceoff with Jones seemed like a full-blown boxing duel.

“I’m used to doing for three minutes. Sometimes it felt like those two minutes felt like three minutes. I’m happy to get this under my belt and I’ll continue to go further and do more,” Tyson stated in a previous post.
