Mike Tyson may have already proven that UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell could really beat him in a fight.

Liddell was once known for being one of the most vicious men on the planet during his prime with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He was beating the toughest fighters left, right and center, until his career started to go downhill as age catches up. His last outing came in 2018 where he suffered a horrible loss in the hands of his ultimate rival by Tito Ortiz via first round knockout in their long-awaited trilogy fight.

Tyson, on the other hand, has long been retired from the world of boxing, but he’s certainly still regarded as a fairly prominent figure. Pretty much the same as Liddell, “Iron Mike” achieved an overwhelming success in boxing basically by knocking the best heavyweight fighters out cold.

While the world might never see Liddell and Tyson face each other, both legendary fighters made the headlines these past few days after the UFC legend made a bold statement about the outcome of a street fight with Tyson. According to Liddell, he would have beaten Tyson in a street fight.

“In a street fight, I’d win. I mean, he’s got a puncher’s chance. He’s got a chance to catch me coming in. But other than that, it’s over,” Liddell predicted.

Fans immediately became enraged by Liddell’s claim, and many have bashed him for firing shots at the legendary boxer. After receiving a ton of criticism, Liddell has finally clarified his previous comments.

In his tweet, the 49-year-old UFC icon explained that he may not knock Tyson out, but he’ll definitely win because of his ground game.

“He won’t get three minutes I’d shoot right away. He had no ground training or takedown defense training at all. So he’d have to catch me on the way in or he’d never get off the ground period!” Liddell wrote.

After all, Liddell’s prediction may have been based on solid facts. Last September, Tyson himself admitted that he would be a awful UFC fighter simply because he has the “worst feet” in the world. In relation to Liddell’s claim, the fight could really be over the moment the UFC star manages to take Tyson down.

“I don’t know what I would do in the UFC, because I watched the UFC a couple of times, and I watched these guys step on people’s feet. And I have the worst feet in the world. And if somebody steps on my feet, I would totally tap out. I would just give up it would be a no-brainer,” Tyson admitted.
