  • Mike Tyson thinks Jermall Charlo is being too friendly in the sport
  • Tyson says Charlo should fight Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and do something to make it happen
  • UFC champion Kamaru Usman and his team are pursuing a fight against Alvarez

Mike Tyson has given one of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez’s potential future opponents a piece of advice.

WBC middleweight king Jermall Charlo boasts an unbeaten professional record of 32-0.

With Alvarez--an undisputed champion at 168 pounds--planning to make his return to middleweight this year, Charlo could certainly make his pitch for a fight against the Mexican superstar.

During a recent appearance on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson podcast, boxing legend Mike Tyson weighed in on Charlo’s shot at Alvarez.

According to “Iron Mike,” Charlo should step his game up in calling out Alvarez because he definitely should be fighting the multi-division champion.

Tyson pointed out that Charlo should start talking about Alvarez’s family in order to get his attention.

“Why aren’t you fighting Canelo?” the 55-year-old questioned Charlo. “Listen, you need to start talking about his mother, his family.”

“You’re too friendly,” Tyson added. “You got to be like Roberto Duran [and go like], ‘give me this, mother f-----. Get in the ring. We sign the contract, b----.”

It is yet to be known if Charlo will take Tyson’s advice on trash-talking Alvarez.

One thing certain at the moment is UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and his team are the ones doing it already.

Usman has recently been calling out Alvarez for a crossover fight and is confident that it will happen soon no matter what.

His manager Ali Abdelaziz barged in and claimed the UFC champion can take the boxing superstar out in “three rounds.”

“Kamaru [Usman] will knock him [Alvarez] out in three rounds,” Abdelaziz told MMA Junkie. “You cannot say no to Kamaru. He’s a guy who comes from Africa. He jumped a lot of obstacles. I believe in Kamaru. This is the difference between me and other people. I believe in him, I live with him, I breathe with him, I die with him, I fight with him. He’s a special person in my life.”

“How many street fights have me and Kamaru been to? We’ve been in a lot of street fights, and I have to believe in him. I believe Kamaru can beat any man alive.”

Alvarez is set to take on WBA light heavyweight Dmitry Bivol in May as the first fight of his two-fight deal with Matchroom Boxing on DAZN.

He will then face his middleweight nemesis Gennadiy Golovkin in September.
