Milan authorities shut down the "Bones and All" red carpet activities Saturday night following safety concerns prompted by Timothée Chalamet fans swarming the event.

The red carpet premiere of Luca Guadagnino's cannibal romance featuring the 26-year-old rising actor was set to take place outside of Space Cinema Odeon in Milan, Italy on Nov. 12. But it got suspended due to the massive crowd of Chalamet's fans that showed up, hoping to get a glimpse of the charming star, Variety reported.

The screening proceeded as planned, along with its scheduled introduction, while the premiere continued in a limited capacity, with most media outlets dismissed. Photos of the attendees were taken inside the venue, but the "Call Me By Your Name" star did not do press, the outlet noted.

The Milan premiere followed the successful debut of "Bones and All" at the Venice Film Festival at the Sala Casino in September, where Guadagnino took home the Silver Lion award for best director by the festival's panel, while lead star Taylor Russell won the Marcello Mastroianni award.

The US-French actor's fans flocked to see him in "full force" during the red-carpet event, but it wasn't as unsafe as the event in Milan. At that time, the actor was able to interact with his fans, approaching them for photo opportunities and autograph signing.

The "Dune" actor has been recognized as this generation's heartthrob because of his "beautiful" look and undeniable talents. Variety took some time to interview some of Chamalet's fans at the event, and many even praised him for his kind nature.

"For me, Timothée Chalamet is loved in Italy because he's very young and beautiful, but he's always very nice, honest, and [has a] special attention for his fans," 47-year-old Diana Bianco told the outlet.

"It feels nice to have a Gen Z star who seems genuinely nice, whom we can all look up to," Kate Hanson, 20, said when asked why she was so fond of the actor.

Chalamet rose to fame after starring in the coming-of-age film "Call Me By Your Name" in 2017, which was also directed by Guadagnino. The actor, who was then 22, earned a nomination at the Academy Awards for Best Actor.

He also starred in "Little Women" in 2019 alongside Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Saoirse Ronan and Meryl Steep, and in "Dune," which premiered last year, along with Zendaya and Jason Momoa.

The actor reunited with Guadagnino for "Bones and All," starring alongside "Escape Room" actress Taylor Russell as a pair of "cannibalistic lovers on the road together."

"Bones and All" will hit theaters in North America on Nov. 18, while its international release is slated for Nov. 23.
