Miley Cyrus, Cody Simpson Split Confirmed After 'Wrecking Ball' Singer Hinted At Breakup On Instagram

Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson have decided to end their romance after being together for almost a year.

A music insider confirmed with Page Six that Cyrus and Simpson have already called it quits after 10 months of dating. Sources close to the former couple also told TMZ that they already broke up within the last few weeks. It was unclear what drove Cyrus and Simpson to split.

However, the "Wrecking Ball" star seemed to have hinted at her relationship status a few days ago. On Monday, Cyrus shared a photo of herself on Instagram for her latest single "Midnight Sky." Her caption, "forever and ever no more" didn't go unnoticed to her fans.

"Forever and ever no more. [black heart emoji] The #MidnightSky is the road I’m taking.... head high up in the clouds," she wrote.

Cyrus and Simpson's split was a surprise to many. Just earlier this month, he shared a loving tribute to Cyrus in an Instagram Story, writing, "In love with my best friend."

The then-couple were also inseparable. They were together most of the time and were even present in each other's social media posts.

In July, an insider told People that Cyrus was grateful for having Simpson as her partner because he helped her live a clean and healthy life. The Aussie singer was also very supportive of Cyrus' journey to sobriety.

“She is very happy to be dating Cody. He is very much into clean, healthy living, and supports her sobriety,” the source told People.

In June, Cyrus and Simpson were spotted visiting a cafe in Calabasas for some fresh air and coffee. The exes even wore matching black outfits and black masks. During the sighting, the "Malibu" hitmaker showed off her yoga-honed boy by wearing a black tank top and skimpy bike shorts. On the other hand, Simpson sported a black T-shirt printed with the words “Anti Drilling Surfing Club.”

Meanwhile, a source told Entertainment Tonight earlier this month that Cyrus' relationship with Simpson was a "whirlwind of change for her."

"But in true Miley fashion she has come out on top," the source said adding that Simpson was "lots of fun and a good friend to Miley."

"Their relationship was unexpected and became meaningful very quickly, and she couldn't be happier. They are both very passionate about their music, and it’s something that has bonded them," the source said.
